Hurricane Isaias Update:
A Message from Pastor Travis to Our Pathway Family
Pathway Family,
Hurricane Isaias is making its way toward the Gulf Coast this weekend. We have all lived on the coast long enough to know this rhythm. We prepare, we look out for each other, and we trust the Lord. Kelly and I are praying over your homes and your families as the storm moves through, wherever it may pass.
Before the storm arrives, let's be the church to one another and to our communities. Check in on each other. Call that widow in your small group. Help your neighbor bring in the patio furniture or board up a window. Make sure no one in our church family or on our streets is facing this alone.
The storm is expected to pass before Sunday, and we plan to gather for worship as normal. It will be a beautifully meaningful day of worship.
Here is what's on my heart: wherever this storm lands, Pathway is going to be ready to respond. Whether that's right here in Mobile or somewhere else along the coast, and whether it's a few downed limbs or homes that are torn apart, we will show up. Not just with chainsaws, tarps, and hot meals, but with the hope of Jesus Christ.
Storms open doors. People who would never walk into a church will open their front door to someone who shows up to help. That is our moment to love them well and point them to the One who holds the wind and the waves.
So be thinking now about how you can serve. Once we know where the need is greatest, we will share how you can plug in.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear." Psalm 46:1
Stay safe this weekend. I'll see you Sunday.
I love you, church.
Pastor Travis Johnson
